We work remotely at Drops, which has enabled us to create a team of 36 people living in 15 countries, speaking 31 languages. Many of us live in countries where our native language is not spoken, and as passionate language learners ourselves, we understand fully that consistency is key to making meaningful progress.
Building and maintaining a streak is a great way to track your commitment over time. If you keep showing up, you’ll see results. That’s just the way it works. We’re excited to introduce you to Streak Rescue, which will give you greater control over your learning practice and enable you to manage your language learning Streak with more flexibility than ever before.
If you've been a Drops user for a while, you might recognize this as something similar to our 'two-day rule'. We will be replacing that with Streak Rescue, but don’t worry! We’ve built Streak Rescue to keep the ability to practice every other day and maintain your Streak while giving Premium users the power to plan ahead for longer breaks by frontloading learning effort and earning more Rescues.
With Streak Rescue, Premium users can earn an additional rescue for every 5 consecutive days of practice (up to a maximum of 4 Rescues). Meaning that you could practice Monday to Friday, take a break at the weekend and come back to your Streak the following Monday!
Even better, if you have a holiday coming up, you can prepare for an extended break by earning all 4 Streak Rescues by learning for 20 days in a row. This way, you can make the most of your break without worrying about losing your Streak.
How it works
Our goal with Streak Rescue is to reward consistency. We know that sometimes life can get in the way of even the best-made plans. The last thing you need is the de-motivation of starting back at zero when that happens. Build up a bank of Streak Rescues to give you the confidence that your Streak is safe whenever things out of your control get in the way of your practice.
To access Streak Rescue, update your Language Drops app to the latest version. If you’re a free user, you can upgrade to premium to take advantage of the full Streak Rescue feature.
